February Third Thursday: Black History Month Observation

0

At VLM, Thursday nights are set aside for our VLM Academy, traditionally known as Bible Study. Every Thursday night, we dive into the Word of God and draw out practical truths that we can make applicable to our everyday lives. This is one way we exercise the mission of Victorious Living Ministries: Building and equipping the family, through the Word of God, to know Jesus and to make HIM known.

However, Third Thursdays are our “special interest units” where we focus on a particular topic or interest. In short, Third Thursdays are about “Building and equipping families with culture, knowledge, and fellowship.”

Football and Fellowship

0

On Sunday, February 7, 2016, the VLM church family assembled at 8:00 AM for Morning Worship. There was a powerful word given by Pastor Wright entitled “More Than a Conqueror.” He came from Romans 8:31-39. We had our monthly observance of Holy Communion and we went our way… But VLM is much more than church…. We are family! Our fellowship didn’t end at the Lord’s Table, but it picked up later that night and enjoyed the Super Bowl as a family.

December and January in Review

0

We have gotten off to a great start at Victorious Living Ministries this year! Here I a brief recap of some of the great things that have taken place.

In December, the V.I.C.T.O.R.S. (Victorious in Christ: Triumphant Over Real-life Situations) Youth Ministry sponsored a skate night. Following this, the W.O.R.D. Women’s Ministry had an awesome tea and breakfast at Virginia Beach Central Library. First Lady Verdonda did an amazing job giving us an exquisite culinary experience! In the spirit of giving, Deacon Sean and Sis. Terwana blessed both the pastor and all of the children of VLM with wonderful Christmas gifts. Sis. Tianna and Bro. John’s motorcycle club, Black Sheep Riders MC, blessed members of VLM with some Christmas love as well!

Pastor Wright 60th Birthday

On Saturday, September 28, 2013, Pastor Wright was given a SURPRISE birthday party to celebrate his 60th! It took place in a special section of Virginia Beach called Sandbridge Beach at Little Island Park. A week out, the forecast was blue skies, sunshine, and a warm temperature. The day of the event was overcast and extremely windy! But we braved the wind to show our love.

NFL Sunday

Today the saints at VLM showed their team spirit! It was our first “NFL Sunday.” We wore our favorite football team’s paraphernalia to show pride. Although we have our differences with our teams, we were are all on Christ’s team! Pastor Wright shocked his family and the church body by publicly declaring his favorite team as the Pittsburgh Steelers! But he truly preached to the body on how we all can be winners. Be sure to check out the video clip from today’s service! Check this out:

Matrimonial Bliss

Marriage is an ordained union by God for Him to be the center of and to get the glory from.  Fully aligned with our mission to “build and equip the family…” VLM is proud to announce the beginning of a new family!  On August 19, 2011, in front of God and witnesses, our very own Dedra and Clinton were joined together in marriage! Congratulations from your VLM family, we are praying with you and for you.

Is your relationship committed to God?  Know this, with Christ as the center no obstacles will be insurmountable.  MARRIAGE STILL WORKS! Step one, get your family in a Bible-believing (and living) church…from there, go anywhere!

Dedication of Destiny

0

On Sunday, August 20, 2011, baby Destiny was dedicated back to the Lord.  Her parent’s along with family and friends witnessed and prayed for her safety, protection, and desire for God as she goes through life.

Have you dedicated your Destiny?  According to dictionary.com destiny is ” the predetermined, usually inevitable or irresistible, course of events.”  If we know that something is to happen before it happens why not put it in the hands of the One who not only knows it will happen but can control HOW and WHEN.  The creator of the universe knows us, what we need, desire, and even fear, check out Jeremiah 29:11. Dedicate your destiny today, you can go through life knowing that in everything you will be VICTORIOUS because He is with you the whole time!
